february 2008 : FPSO Montara Project

A specific application for a ship in the oil sector

The FPSO Montara project involves the transformation of a tanker into an FPSO* by the "Jurong Shipward" shipyard in Singapore.

Our added value to this project:
- Carrying out the studies and building 3 transformers using 3 MVA technology (6.6 kV / 440 V; 60hz; 6.5 tons)
- Based on specifications which are extremely rigorous in terms of mechanical, harsh environmental and timescale constraints.
==> mechanical reinforcement of the active parts of the transformer (mechanical constraints on vibration)
==> reinforced paint (harsh environment)
==> DNV certification

The BCV Technologies teams focused and organised themselves to see the commitments through:
- Weekly project meetings with the client
- Daily progress meetings within the company (commercial, technical and industrial coordination)

This organisational excellence enabled a time saving of 25%

The order was placed in August 2007 and completed in December 2007

* FPSO: acronym for "Floating Production, Storage and Offloading" unit
